Even now, I have no idea how the heck that happened.

So, times have been kinda tough for David and I as of late. We were waiting on a refund from our apartment company that was supposed to come in last month. Well, it didn't and we were pretty poor for a little while. But, thankfully, it came in a few days ago. And we're able to afford little luxuries again. One of the first things I did was get myself a ginger bread latte from Starbucks. Yumyum~ And the store is all festive and full of Christmas merch. Last time I went in, they were playing the soundtrack to the Charlie Brown Christmas special.
We also went out for dinner yesterday to CoCo Ichiban. They make such awesome curry! I also discovered that they offer half portions, which is the perfect size for me. So, I got the half portion chicken tender curry with some naan. And mine came with a drink as part of the half portion set. Wooo!
So, most stores are starting to decorate for Christmas. Aeon has been putting up their Christmas stuff, as well. I already posted about the tree, but now they have banners hanging on all the pillars.
Yep. You read that correctly. MANY Christmas. The katakana says it, too, so I'm guessing it was intentional. Seems kinda funny, though. Ahahaha. Aside from that, the grocery stores put up some new adds. Including a Coca Cola Santa themed add for the holidays. Oh, and a Matsumoto Jun add for Meiji Chocolate. Which reminds me, I need to pick up some white chocolate for a peppermint bark recipe...
Actually, I did some grocery shopping today and I found Evangelion chips. True story. They even come with a collectible card.
I also bought some Christmas milk (read: plain milk in a Christmas carton) and some teas. The green bottle is a green tea latte. Yum yum~ I love matcha. And some Lady Grey, since I was out.
So, because we have some money to play with now, I'm able to make nicer meals. So, to celebrate, I made chicken stir fry and smashed potatoes. I think the potatoes needed to be cooked a tad longer, but on the whole it was a pretty good meal.
However, after dinner I had an accident. I was doing the dishes and was in the middle of drying our new knife. I was actually just thinking about how I should be careful, since it's new and sharp and such. And I somehow managed to slice my right hand/wrist. Even now, I have no idea how the heck that happened. It hurts a bit, but it's not deep by any means and I didn't cut any arteries, so it's all good.
PS. David took the pictures and was teasing me. Hence why I'm giggling. Ahaha. Oh well. After we got me patched up, I set to making David his lunch. I've gotten into bento mode the past week or so, but I only started taking photos yesterday and today. I'm not a pro yet, but hopefully soon! (The one from today is on the right.)

Christmas in a cup.

So, been quiet the past few days, but had a really good week last week! Our friend Brad came down from BH for a visit and he and I did the tourist trip around Sendai. There's a bus called the 'Loople Bus' that does a massive loop of Sendai, hitting all the touristy spots. I've always wanted to do it and Brad was game, so off we went! The entire loop takes about an hour to do. And it's a really nice view! Sendai has some really pretty spots. We ended up getting out and exploring the Castle Ruins area. However, the actual ruins were closed off to the public when we got there. Damn. But, there was a pretty shrine that we explored.

And they had 絵馬 Ema there! Ema are little wooden plaques that you can purchase and write down a prayer or a wish on. You then hang it up and the gods will receive them. I'd always wanted to do that, so I finally did!
After exploring the shrine, we walked about and explored the little park. There was a massive watchtower and there were trees that people tied their bad luck fortunes to.And of course we saw a line of vending machines.
The castle area was located on a mountain and there was a really nice view of Sendai from it! You could see everything! It was great!
After our little tour, we wandered around the shopping arcade. David was going to meet us at the station at 8pm, so at about 7 we hopped to the station and grabbed a drink from Starbucks. Mmmmm~ Chai Tea Latte. Christmas in a cup. We found David and then we all went out for dinner. I was starving! We would up at a small place on the top floor of Loft. I got the ham and mozzarella panini. It had tomato sauce inside it and it was fabulous.
After dinner, we bid goodbye to Brad and David and I headed home. I grabbed a drink for the ride. A Rilakuma cafe au lait! Yumyum!
So, a few days later I went out shopping for dad and grabbed myself a milk tea and a pack of sandwiches for the train ride home. Of course I grabbed the tea with the Disney characters on it. It tasted really nice! Like it had honey in it.
So, the leaves are finally starting to turn here. And the colours are so pretty! Like, really vibrant. I kinda wish I was back at BH, since the view point always had lovely views.
And I went to meet David for lunch on Halloween. I had dressed up as Kiki again. It was really nice. Almost like a date~ We had BLT's. And it was HEAVENLY. Like, REAL BLT's! Omg. I was sooooo happy. For those who don't know, BLT's are my favourite sammich. And I can never seem to get a real on in Japan. And I finally found a place that makes real BLT's! So, we had lunch and I walked David back to work. One of his co-workers made me a treat bag! It was really sweet. And then, as I walked through Aeon on my way home, I noticed the massive Hello Kitty Christmas tree! In the middle of the mall. It's huge and adorable! I can't wait for Christmas. Bring it on!

I found Linkin Park figures inside, I might add.

So, I waited for David after school a few days ago in Sendai and we grabbed a quick bite to eat from Lotteria before heading home. Lotteria is a cheap, but good little fast food chain. Kinda reminds me of Wendy's. I HAD to take a picture of their menu, however. Look at this.
Yes. That is a 1,420yen for a Tower Cheeseburger. That's 10 patties on a single burger. Eeeeew! I'm getting heart palpitations just looking at it! And the, 500yen for a 5 patty burger or fried shrimp burger. Gah. Gross! We just got a normal burger and fries. After that, we hopped onto the train and headed home. David got paid that day, so we thought we'd have a small treat. There's a Baskin Robbins in the Aeon across from our apartment. And they have so many cute Halloween themed sundae's. I got a bear sundae with chocolate hazelnut ice cream. Yummmmmmmmmm!
After that, we did some grocery shopping. I found some MASSIVE apples! Like, the size of my head! They looked delicious, though. I kinda wish we'd bought one. Although, they're like 297yen per apple, so maybe it's all for the best.
We got a package from Lauren recently. And she sent me powdered gravy! Yay! So, we had poutine for dinner! Oh man, we it ever goooood. Yumyumyum! Thanks again, Lauren!
And then yesterday, we went for a long walk around our area. We hadn't really done much exploring, so off we went! It was a nice day. We walked for like 10k, though. It mas a loooong walk! But, we found a Book Off (second hand store), which is awesome, a Yamada (electronics store) and we found the local Black Shop! Woooo! Black Shop had some great signage outside, too.
I found Linkin Park figures inside, I might add. Ahahahahaha.
We passed by a game center as well and I found the biggest box of Calorie Mate I've ever seen. Ahahaha. Calorie Mate are basically shortbread cookies packed with calories. People eat them for a quick energy boost. They're pretty tasty, actually.
While we were walking back home, we both got really hungry, so we stopped off at CoCo Ichiban for some curry! We both got the chicken cutlet curry with some Naan bread! Oh my god. Was it ever good. Best curry ever. And the Naan was awesome, too!
Man, David always takes such flattering photos of me. Ahahaha. All in all, it was an awesome day. And it was really warm weather, too. Nice breeze and lots of sunshine.
Also, I'd like to point out that I FINALLY found a drama that David liked and watched willingly with me! Woooooo! We just finished it. It's about a rich heiress who is also a detective, but not a very good one. Her butler is really smart, though, and he solves all her cases for her. Anywho, it was good. It's called 謎解きはディナーのあとで (Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de).
